  • 1.5"/38mm width spool
  • One piece machine cut frame and spool
  • Stainless steel shaft
  • Line guard
  • Wooden presentation box
  • Weight:223g
  • RRP:£69.99
What's good:
  1. Smooth running
  2. Line guard

What's bad:
  1. Price
  2. Maybe a little too big
This is the deluxe version of the original Ikonix centrepin which I also own and have reviewed.
This version comes with a line guard, which for a novice centrepin user like me, is a great help.
Looks wise; it's nice with a similar look to its predecessor, although some may find it a bit shiny for their taste.
Onto performance; I managed to get a couple of hours fishing in over Christmas, so I grabbed my feeder rod and set up a 13ft Maver Abyss float rod with this reel, and headed to a stretch of the Avon near to where I live.
Unfortunately the only fish I caught were on the feeder, but when I switched to the float the reel performed fine. It trotted a float down with the flow with no problems, thanks to its free running design.
My only criticism of this reel is that it is maybe a bit on the large side. It's also a bit on the expensive side, but shop around and you may find it cheaper than the RRP.
