This budget reel from Shimano is not too bad for the money. Most shops are selling these for around £15 or less.
I've had this reel for a few years now and apart from the slightly poor line lay, for what I paid for it I can't complain too much.
For a budget reel it has stood up to being used and abused very well.
As I said before the only let down to this reel is the line lay, it tapers out from the base of the spool. You may be able to see what I mean from the picture above.
If you are after a cheap first time reel for a child or maybe a spare, and you are not too bothered about line lay then this would be an ok choice. There are better reels out there for around the same money, but this reel does come with the same reliability that all Shimano reels have.
